Notes: Deciduous shrub found along streambanks and in wetlands predominately in the Mountains and western Piedmont regions of NC (can be found growing naturally in Orange, Durham, and Chatham counties, although not in Alamance nor Wake.) Beloved by pollinators especially bees and a larval host plant to several species of moth. Best used in a moist sunny meadow or alongside a pond.
