Notes: Herbaceous perennial wildflower commonly found in rocky woods in the eastern USA- found most frequently in the mountains in NC. Pollinated by Ruby-throated hummingbirds (Archilochus colubris) and birds eat its seeds. It is a great addition to woodlands, shady areas, or pollinator gardens.
